About Album
The 21 year old Singer-Songwriter Lara Samira from Berlin will release her Christmas EP ‘X’ on December 1 on Dutch Indie label Toukan Records. The newly written song ‘christmas crush’ and her cover of ‘jingle bell rock’ will bring you Christmas right away!
‘christmas crush’ was written end 2020 when the whole world was still at home during the lockdown. Lara was craving for human interaction and physical touch. To keep her family safe and herself there were no shaking hands, no hugs and definitely no kisses underneath the mistletoe. It felt a little lonely and depressing. But Lara turned it into something positive by being grateful for the current situation everyone was having. ‘I guess we’re all still wishing for things to go back to the way they were pre-covid, remembered. herself: it’s Christmas and I get to have another year with my loved ones. And who knows: maybe even a christmas crush! And so expect a cosy and frightful Christmas song you can sing a lot with.
‘I always loved the typical American jazzy Christmas songs because they’re just so fun to listen to and they instantly put you in the perfect mood for christmas! Jingle Bell Rock by Bobby Helms seems to have everything from catchiness and stunning harmonies to the perfect intro and ending. It also always reminds me of this one scene in “Mean Girls” which really makes the song all the more charming and fits perfectly with ‘christmas crush’ and so Lara is releasing her first Christmas EP.
On November 11, Lara released her very first EP ‘phosphenes’ including her successful singles ‘something i can’t fake’ and ‘when words fail’ on Toukan Records. With over 1.000.000 streams and 4 huge editorial Spotify Playlists (‘Akustischer Frühling’ (DE), ‘Herbst Chillout’ (DE),‘Pop Brandneu’ (DE), ‘t Koffiehuis (NL), and 1 personal playlist The Pop Lounge her streams continue to grow. Lara is getting more and more support by Dutch and German radio such as FeelGood Radio and Radio Decibel
Lara Samira’s Christmas EP on Toukan Records is led by producer Roulsen and songwriter Marcia Sondeijker, hailing from Utrecht, The Netherlands. Known for collaborating with Dutch artists Maan and rapper Sven Alias, Eurovision artists Tamta and Kristin Husøy.
