The mysterious Eurovision singer Kristin Husøy releases cover of “LOVE ON THE BRAIN” after 1 year
She’s only 19 years old, grew up in Trondheim, Mid of Norway and still at high school. In January 2020, she participated with the 60th anniversary of the Norwegian television show ‘Melodi Grand Prix’ (MGP), the local pre-show of world’s biggest songwriting contest Eurovision with an average of 200 million viewers. She became 2nd and has been a celebrity ever since. Critics and press called her performance “impressive” and “outstanding”.
With no social media presence, promotion or new releases, Kristin’s fanbase is growing fast throughout Nordic countries, UK and The U.S. She hold #1 spot on iTunes Norway on February 16 & 17, she hold #2 spot for streaming and #23 for downloads in Top 100 Norway. At Spotify, she’s been #1 at Viral Norway and #23 at Top 50 Norway. And #29 on Shazam Norway.
In April 2020, she released a Remix EP including the Lancie Green & LUMA. Remix that’s been playlisted on Norway’s biggest radio station NRK for over 6 months. The Remix EP with 7 remixes has over 300.000 streams on Spotify and iTunes. With nearly 2.5 millions streams, Kristin has proven to be rather impressive with no social push or promotion at all.
So 1 year later, she’ll release a cover of Rihanna’s majestic song “Love on The Brain”. Kristin considers this masterpiece as one of the most honest classic sad love songs there is. The outstanding lyrics and melodies, interesting rhythms and excellence performance by Rihanna intrigues her to cover this hit song. When she heard the song the first time, she couldn’t help but study the song inside out and perform the song herself a thousand times in front of the public.”It’s the perfect mix between new and old music, something I love singing and listening to so much” she says.
“Love on The Brain” by Kristin Husoy will be out on February 5, 2021. Stay tuned!
